Invisible Disability – USyd 2021 Seminar

Stephanie provides an excellent explanation of Invisible Disability, the scope of which is often complex to comprehend. Also called “Hidden Disabilities” by some, though this label has negative connotations from multiple perspectives, not least that it reinforces the aura of shame around the concept of disability – something that needs to end!

The lived-experience stories shared by Katie and Edward were compelling, highlighting that every person’s experience is unique to them – and usually unlike what is portrayed in the media or the same as your friend/relative/that person you met once!

Much respect for the student participants and gratitude to the University of Sydney for making this seminar recording available to everyone.
